When we were tasked by the divine Sarah J Curtis to work across her brand creative we did a secret happy dance. It is true that we coveted her luxury hats, but more recently we had fallen in love with her Italian linen collection. and this, was the true source of our excitement. Each piece resembles a work of art, with handcrafted embroideries by Ukranian artisans on silhouettes that are both simple and elegant. We had the perfect muse in mind for this shoot – Dutch beauty and curly locked girl of the moment Gigi Ringel. She was so perfect in fact that we changed the dates of the shoot three times just so we could confirm a booking.
Our creative objective was to capture the beauty of this collection by framing it within the surrounds that it was created – Sarah’s family home. A gallery in itself – this original early 20th century Vaucluse bungalow is filled with stained glass windows, ornate fixtures and vintage collectors furniture that has been sourced from around the globe. But it is the art in the form of paintings and sculptures that we fell in love with. Our favourite pieces were the paintings by Sydney based artist Leah Frazer which were complex and captivating, and the contemporary Aboriginal painting by Judy Mengil.
Our team produced the 2018 linen collection campaign and lookbook, as well as full branding and e-commerce site refresh that will launch in February 2018.
