With every step, dust rises around the soles of her leather-clad feet. White linen falls from her shoulders as she wanders. She wears a short dress with a frill around the hem and thick straps flat against her tanned back. On the outskirts of San Pedro, she walks the slim tracks dotted with trees to a white-washed church, the only landmark before the Valle de la Muerte. The woman looks over her shoulder and pulls her hat lower to shade her eyes from the scintillating sun. This is Sarah J Curtis’ campaign on the Atacama sierra, Chile, directed by Wallcandy.
